Poland is becoming one of Europe's leading military powers and has demonstrated this once again today with a parade in Warsaw.

On August 15, Poland celebrates its Armed Forces Day, coinciding with the anniversary of Polish victory over Bolshevik Russia in the 1920 Battle of Warsaw. Once again, the parade held annually on this day has served as a display of the country’s growing military power, which is increasing the size of its Armed Forces and material means with an eye on the threat of Russian imperialism following the invasion of Ukraine.

Once again, and as expected in a country with a long military tradition, a fact worth highlighting is the martial nature of the Polish Army, which is divided into five service branches: the Land Force, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces and Territorial Defence Force.

This is Poland and cavalry cannot be missing, thanks to which the Polish Army achieved its decisive victory in 1920 against the Red Army.

These six F-16 fighters of the Polish Air Force took part in the air parade, and the Polish Air Force is now waiting to receive its first F-35s.

This year's new products include the Mała Narew, a short-range air defence system (SHORAD) equipped with CAMM missiles. Poland has ordered 44 units.

Polish Army M-142 HIMARS multiple missile launchers. Poland has purchased 500 HIMARS and more than 9,000 missiles of various types.

Two columns of Leopard 2PL tanks, the modernized Polish version of the Leopard 2A4.

K2 Black Panther tanks, excellent armoured vehicles manufactured by South Korea. The Polish Army is its only European operator.

M1A1 Abrams tanks of the Polish Army. PPoland is the only European country that operates this American armored vehicle together with Ukraine (Romania will soon receive them as well). Poland has purchased 116 M1A1s from the US (the first ones were delivered to Poland in June 2023) and 250 M1A2 SEP v3s.

AHS Krab self-propelled howitzers. Poland has 102 of these self-propelled howitzers and has ordered another 200.

BWP Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles. This is a model manufactured in Poland. In 2022, Poland announced the purchase of 588 vehicles of this type to replace the old BWP-1, the Polish version of the Soviet BMP-1.

KTO Rosomak infantry fighting vehicles with ZSSW-30 unmanned turrets. In 2022, Poland announced the purchase of 341 vehicles of this type.

Two AMZ Bobr-3 amphibious reconnaissance vehicles. This is a Polish-made vehicle. The Polish Army is expected to receive 244 units.

M120 Rak self-propelled mortars, based on the same chassis as the KTO Rosomak infantry fighting vehicles. Poland purchased 122 M120 Raks in three separate contracts between 2016 and 2020, minus 24 units delivered to Ukraine in 2023.

A Baobab-K minelaying vehicle. It is a Polish-made vehicle, based on a Jelcz 8×8 ​​truck. The Polish Army expects to receive 24 vehicles of this type between 2026 and 2028.

WB Groups Gladius vehicles for launching BSP-U reconnaissance and attack drones, based on the chassis of the PGZ Waran 4×4 tactical vehicle. This is another of the great novelties of this parade.

Polish Special Forces M1279A1 JLTV vehicles. In December 2022, the US approved the sale of 26 of these vehicles to Poland. They are used by its special operations units, which form a separate branch of the Armed Forces.
