The communist coalition accepts the disinformation of this Islamist dictatorship

Sumar, Pedro Sánchez's partner, spreads a hoax from Iran about the Spanish aircraft carrier

Pedro Sánchez's cabinet has been talking about "pseudo-media" and "disinformation" to discredit media critical of the government.

Sumar asks if the 'Juan Carlos I' is in Iran and who sent it there

After doing that, one of the partners of the Sánchez government, the communist coalition Sumar, has joined a disinformation operation by Iran, an Islamist dictatorship that sponsors terrorism on an international scale. Yesterday, the Europa Press agency noted that Sumar has asked the government to clarify whether the Spanish aircraft carrier "Juan Carlos I" is in waters near Iran, stating that that country has captured the Spanish flagship near its coasts.

According to Europa Press, Sumar's question, signed by three deputies of the United Left (the electoral brand of the Spanish Communist Party since 1986), wants the government to explain "where and who" has made the decision to send the Spanish aircraft carrier to an area with a "potential regional war". This question is funny, because as I have already pointed out at the beginning, Sumar is part of the government. To find out where the "Juan Carlos I" is, Sumar only had to ask his socialist colleagues from the PSOE, the party to which the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, belongs. Instead, they present a parliamentary question that contributes to spreading an Iranian hoax.

A question based on a hoax by the Iranian regime

Sumar’s question is based on a news story published by Iran’s Mehri news agency on August 9, which claimed that four drones from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had captured the Spanish aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf, accompanied by two unnamed US ships: a San Antonio-class amphibious ship and a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship. Here we can see the video released by Mehri, supposedly with images recorded hours or days before (the news does not indicate this):

The 'Juan Carlos I' is not in Iran, but in the Canary Islands

It should be noted that the "Juan Carlos I" returned to its base in Rota in mid-July after a deployment of several months in the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. On August 7, the government subdelegate in Cadiz visited that ship in Rota, as noted that same day by the Twitter account of that Subdelegation:

On the day the news from the Iranian agency Mehri was published, August 9, the "Juan Carlos I" was in Arguineguín, south of the island of Gran Canaria. It was still there on August 13, according to InfoVeritas, and it is still there today, according to Marine Traffic. So, as this evidence shows, the "Juan Carlos I" is not in the Persian Gulf: the Iranian regime has launched a hoax, that is, another one, as this is already commonplace.

The video released by Iran may have been recorded in 2018

As for the video published by the Iranian regime, I have not been able to locate the source of that recording. Assuming it is not an old video, the images could have been recorded in 2018, when the "Juan Carlos I" traveled to Iraq to transport several helicopters for the Spanish Army contingent in that country. The Iranian regime most likely took advantage of the Spanish ship's passage through the Strait of Hormuz six years ago to record these images, and is now publishing them to launch a disinformation campaign, in the midst of tensions between the terrorist regime and the State of Israel following the attacks carried out by three of the terrorist groups supported by Iran: Hezbollah (in Lebanon), Hamas (in Gaza) and the Houthis (in Yemen).

It would be appreciated if one of the partners of the Spanish government did not spread lies about a terrorist regime like Iran, which has been trying to poison the world with its fake news for years. Besides, before making a fool of themselves by presenting a parliamentary question like that, the Sumar deputies would have only had to look for a little information, which is what I did to write this article. Another thing is that Sumar has some interest in doing favors for the Iranian regime, for reasons that I do not know but that it would be good if they explained to all Spaniards.
