The latest of these hoaxes was spread on Saturday, August 10: Hamas claimed that Israel had killed 100 Palestinians in an attack on a school in Gaza. Many media outlets published this Hamas hoax without any evidence or data to support it, a bad practice that has been constantly repeated since the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023.

We are witnessing a paradox: while there is a warning (rightly) against Russian disinformation, many media outlets contribute to spreading Hamas disinformation, lies that only seek to legitimize this criminal gang, which systematically uses the civilian population of Gaza as human shields, which is a war crime.

As has happened before, Israel responds to Hamas's lies with accurate information. This is precisely what happened again today. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has published the names and positions of 31 eliminated terrorists, belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad, who used the Al-Taba'een school in Gaza as a base: "there the terrorists planned to carry out attacks against Israel."

On Saturday, the IDF said that Hamas terrorists were "operating in a Hamas command and control center, which was embedded inside a mosque in the Al-Taba’een school compound." Hamas has a habit of using civilian facilities to plan and execute its attacks against Israel, using civilians as human shields in order to prevent the IDF from taking any action against the terrorists.

The IDF added: "These terrorists operated in order to advance and carry out attacks against IDF soldiers and the State of Israel from inside the compound. The strike was carried out using three precise munitions, which, according to professional analysis, can not cause the amount of damage that is being reported by the Hamas-run Government Information Office in Gaza. Furthermore, no severe damage was caused to the compound where the terrorists were situated. Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including the use of a small warhead, aerial surveillance, and intelligence information."

So on the one hand we have a democratic country, Israel, which protects its civilians and tries to minimize civilian casualties in Gaza, yet that country is systematically demonized by Western media and politicians (especially leftist media and politicians). And on the other hand we have a terrorist group, Hamas, which seeks to indiscriminately kill Israeli civilians and uses Gazan civilians as human shields, yet these Western media and politicians give credence to any Hamas hoax.

At this point, I think it is fair to say that what the media and politicians who spread Hamas lies are doing is pure and simple informational terrorism. A vile and lowly practice that serves to legitimize Hamas terrorists and continue to fuel their criminal campaign against the civilian population of Israel and also against the inhabitants of Gaza, whom they use as human shields.
