Pacific Skies, the largest aerial deployment of the Spanish Air Force in decades

This Wednesday, June 26, the largest air deployment that the Spanish Air Force has organized in recent decades began.

The deployment was launched from the Albacete Air Base, where the Spanish aviators participated in a farewell ceremony presided over by the chief general of the Air Combat Command (MACOM), Lieutenant General Francisco González-Espresati, who He said: "You are the image of Spain around the world".

This deployment, called Pacific Skies 2024, consists of a trip around the world flying 58,000 kilometers, organized jointly with the German and French Air Forces. The first stage has arrived in Goose Bay, Canada, after a six-hour flight. The aircraft participating in this deployment are:

  • Spain: 4 Eurofighter (of Wing 14 of Albacete and Wing 11 of Morón), 1 A400M of Wing 31 (Zaragoza).
  • Germany: 8 Eurofighter, 4 A400M and 1 C-130J Super Hercules.
  • France: 2 A330 MRTT.

On the crossing, the German planes were refueled in flight by a Royal Netherlands Air Force A330 MRTT.
